Network Operations Center

Location

The location of our NOC is the the upper level above Judy Bugs, which is a book store located at 1033 Broadway. We have rooftop access allowing us to setup the primary routing links.

Purpose

The Network Operations Center serves the Internet origin of the ColumbusFreenet.org routable network. It could be considered to be the primary routing node. From the roof we'll have sector antenna links to all other nearby routing nodes, and links to any close end-user (omnidirectional) nodes (check out Node Information for more details on specific nodes). The NOC will contain all central networking equipment as well as the servers hosting our portal and other services. It also functions as the primary captive portal, and houses the intranet servers providing services to the internal cloud (as well as any services to the external world.)
